September 7th, 2013. This month was a collection of artists that we have always loved to show. Included in the night’s festivities was AR, Free Humanity, Jay Open, Liz Killz, Moeeglee, Pernille Damgaard, Germizm, Sick Dot One and Nick Macaulay. Joe Ded set up shop in our front windows for some live painting. Another successful artwalk! Thank you Santa Ana.

April 5th, 2014. This art walk marked GCS Clothing Store’s 5th year in the city of Santa Ana. It was hard to believe that it was april of 2009 when GCS opened it’s doors in DTSA. To help us celebrate the date, we had the pleasure of hosting a solo art show by Jonathan Martinez entitled “Rise of the Endangered”. Original acrylic on canvas and ink on paper pieces filled the gallery. Two lucky recipients won the raffle and walked away with an original J. Martinez. And as Always, GCS is honored and happy to have had 5 years of bringing quality art, artists and events to the people of central orange county.

April 16th, 2014. A very rare wednesday art show in our gallery brought us Liz Covarrubias a.k.a. Liz Killz’s “The Missing Cards” photographic art show. The theme of the show was to update the traditional ‘loteria’ game pieces with symbols and icons that are a little more relatable to today’s audiences. May 4, 2014. The 2nd annual Psycho De Mayo went down at The Yost Theater in DownTown Santa Ana. When you put Psycho Realm, DTSA and the cinco de mayo weekend together, the show was bound to sell out and the venue was sure to get packed. The other headliners backing up Sick Jacken, Cynic, and Dj FM were Tijuana No!, Sean Price and DJ Muggs. Evidence and Murs also jumped on stage to treat the crowd to something a little special. Big ups Blacklisted Music Group for another great show.
May 3, 2014. Heres a look back at our May 2014 art walk. A collection of GCS veterans. This exposition brought together pieces from 4 or 5 different previous art shows here in our gallery. How many can you name? 
Take a look at the last time that GCS hosted Sick Jacken, Cynic and DJ FM, collectively known as The Psycho Realm, for a meet and greet in our art gallery. This time they were joined by 2Mex. As you can see, there was a good amount of fans that came out to see these artists. The event was scheduled to push the Psycho de Mayo concert at The Yost. GCS is always honored and appreciative to be able to host the type of events that bring artists closer to the people that support them.
Here’s another flashback for all you art fans. Today we look at the 3rd annual “Steel Giants” Group Freight Train Art Exhibit held at the GCS clothing store in Pomona March 8th, 2014. This is arguably GCS’s Pomona most popular art show. Tons of great art and art fans flood the Con Safos gallery for this show every time they host it. This year’s photographic participants include Eric BMW, True2Death, Bob Ross, REVISE_D, Railside Rebellon, Bob the Bencher, Reefer Sutherland and DCAN. “Big Rob” the Champ has been one of the most active promoters in the underground hip hop scene in the last couple of years. Talk about always hustling, this guy is mad active. Putting together music and art events at various bars, concert halls and shops, his #showcase626 events have definitely brought quality acts to audiences that are hungry for that underground so cal hip hop culture. March 1st, 2015 GCS Santa Ana was proud to host ENDZ from Locally Grown Collective for his “Live Free” album release show. Also on the night’s line up was Severe the MC, Sage One and Dj Lala, and Vel The Wonder. Great night, the room was packed and everyone was treated to a hell of a show. GCS would like to congratulate ENDZ once again on his album release (and birthday!). Look out for more from ENDZ and LGCLTV.

July 26th, 2014. Due to the GCS Clothing store Santa Ana moving, this art show was moved to the GCS in Pomona. Mark Funk curated his first art show which included visual artists as well as MC’s and DJ’s. GCS got to know Mark throughout the years as a good customer, he would always go out of his way to attend our various art shows and in store performances and eventually he became a great friend to the shop. We’ll be on the look out for more events planned by this Mark and his company BFLY. Art work by Mark Funk, JROZ, Jamie Johnson, Jonathan Martinez, Kenos One, 3rdi, Eddie Fowler, Jo A., Joseph Gutierrez a.k.a Sefjo, and Danny Boi. Going down right before the 3rd annual “Mind Clouders fest” at The Fox theatre in downtown Pomona, the in store included performances by Mal Practice, Swift Dixshun and Mando the DJ and of course PAWZ ONE.

OCT. 26, 2014. Blacklisted music group and UGHHblog joined up to produce this year’s Night of the Living Dead show at The Yost theater in Downtown Santa Ana. Hosted by PAWZ ONE, the night included performances by NME featuring Sick Jacken and Madchild. All of which led up to a rare performance by Necro. The show was billed as performing classics, some of which Necro admitted to never have performed live before, so the santanero crowd got a very special show.

Today we look at the night GCS clothing store came back from the dead and returned to Downtown Santa Ana. NOV 1st, 2014, in conjunction with the first saturday art walk, GCS opened it’s new doors to the world and hosted the show “Return to Tell the Tale”, a solo art show by Ivan “3rdi” Vega. How fitting it was to have this great artist commemorate our re-grand opening, we have had the honor of showing this guy for a few years now and we had to have him return to GCS and bless the new space and get us going on the right foot.

Today we take a stroll down memory lane to the time when we hosted LTS KOG art show during the art walk at our Broadway location. As you can see from the photos, it was a packed house.
We were very happy to get the street artist Tommy Face in our gallery for FEB’s art show. He brought some handmade art on spray cans. And for only $20 each. Get yours today… 
Another big show that we were excited to see was Army Of The Pharaohs at The Observatory. AOTP was out promoting their new album “Heavy Lies The Crown”, but you know they couldn’t come through without rocking a few classic tracks. The Jedi Mind Trick family was in full force, and the crowd loved it. Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Celph Titled, Esoteric, Outerspace (Planetary and Crypt the War Child), Reef the Lost Cause and a very special guest Ill Bill turned in a great performance. Jedi Minds, Uncle Howie represent!
Last but not least, we have a photo recap of Too Short’s set at the Yay Area Fest II. The yay area was definitely well represented at this show. Anyone who has grown up in cali and listened to hip hop music from the early 80’s until now should be familiar with his music. A true hip hop legend.
YAY AREA FEST II was such a big show that its going to take a few blog post to recap the night properly. Round two brings us photos from Mistah F.A.B. set. Bay area represent!
